My Honest review of Shrek the 4th

Last Saturday I went to go see Shrek 4. I know it's been out of at least two weeks at this point but i've not had the time to do and see it. I was really looking forward to this movie cause I am a huge fan of Shrek! And what would make the movie more exciting is that it was going to be 3-D! The begining of the movie looked promicing, Shrek is settling down to a normal family life, but as time goes on he grows tired of it, and at his children's birthday party he get's mad and makes a deal with Rumpelstilscan, taking away the day he was born and thus changing everyone's lives in Far Far Away.

The plot to me really isn't a good plot for Shrek... to me it was more like "It's a Wonderful Life" but with Shrek fairy tales characters, set in an mid evil time period. And of course shrek and Rumpelstilscan are the only ones that know that the world has changed, and most of the character think Shrek is literally crazy.

Normally in a Shrek film they have alot of great celebrity voices, and poke fun at Pop Culture. In this one not so much... which was a big dissapointment to me... I liked how in the 3rd movie they had Justin Timberlake as King Arthur, and poked fun at high school life, and alot of the funny women from SNL to play the princesses.

Another thing that bothered me was that the movie didn't stay in continuity with the series. In the 3rd movie you get to see Rumpelstiscan in the Poison Apple being called Fluffypigskin by Prince Charming and he looks COMPLETELY different from his 4th movie incarnation. And I'm very sure they could have found a different fairly tale villian to be the villian in this movie.

Though don't get me wrong the movie has it's moments. shrek does learn a valuable life lesson, and gains appriciation for what he really has *spoilers* Like how much he really loves Fiona and their children, and there were some funny moments, along with that and the real 3-D just don't help make up for it. I'm sorry Dream Works, but this movie really didn't cut it for me! >_< I feel like I waited 10 bucks! I should have waited for it to come out on DVD...

If you're a big fan of Shrek I would advice to be careful when viewing this movie... It's not like the rest of them... In fact it's the worst of them in my opinion anyways. If you still want to see that's fine, but just be careful, and maybe wait for it when it's a cheaper to see like in a dollar theathe or rent it from Red Box.

My favorite cafe has turned into a class act

For about a month Upper East side was closed down for remodling and quiet the remodling it got! What was originally a haven for Kirksville artist and people who just loved coffee shops/ healthy eatteries will be surprised to see how the inturier has changed! When I first walked in I felt like I stepped into an English coffee house. Beautiful tables, no more booths, the painting on the walls from local artists have been replaced with more professional paintings. The menu has changed a bit as well. they now serve this amazing iced coffee drinks that can give the Mcdonalds Frappe a run for it's money ;) I am glad to see some of the original sandwhiches are still on the new menu. The people are still friendly and helpfull as last time, even though the ownership and management and even name has changed, it's still a nice place to come to, have some coffee, eat lunch with friends or just to get on the wifi such as myself XD

My first blog

Everyone has a blogspot so i guess I should as well XD This memorial day weekend has been long and heckit. Work at Hy-vee and work at home, graduations, not to mention the heat wave, and it's only going to get hotter lol. As for abridging FBA ep 5 is at a bit of a stand still cause I'm still waiting on lines to come in, and the editor for the ep is with out internet until who knows when. I should start scripting ep 6 to pass the time. I need to catch up on lines hopefully soon. My job keeps me busy, and home is a bit busy to... crap it sounds like i'm complaining but i'm not lol. I'll do another blog hopefully soon!
